VBM Data Probes and Data Reduction

The DNA mini-circle problem provides an example in which the information contained in the solution at each set of parameter values is quite complex. In addition to understanding the bifurcation diagram, two further questions then arise: how to understand all the information at each parameter value, and how to store all of it?

We address the problem of generating understanding of the solution at fixed parameter values by allowing problem-dependent visualization data probes, which can be used to examine various projections of the solution corresponding to any point of the bifurcation diagram.

The Data Probes are in addition to, and largely independent of, the visualization options for the bifurcation diagram itself.
